Women's Water Polo -- The 2006 Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team traveled to San Diego this past weekend for the San Diego Mesa Tournament where they won 1 game and lost three throughout the weekend.

Citrus College Women's Water Polo loses three and wins one at tournamentIn the first game, the Lady Owls lost a close one to tournament host San Diego Mesa 9-10. The second game came against fellow WSC member Ventura whom they lost to earlier in the week 6-12. It was much of the same result as Citrus feel 7-10. They finally got their first win in their third game, when they defeated Pasadena City College 16-6. In the fourth and final game, the Lady Owls suffered heartbreak yet again losing another close game 7-8, this time to Cypress College.

For the tournament goalie Heather Curtis had an outstanding effort blocking 49 shots. Ivonne Garcia led all Owls in scoring as she had 17 goals. Janet Pezold was second with 10 goals. Pezold polished off her all around game as she also led the team in steals and assists with 12 and 9 respectively.

After all was said and done the Lady Owls find themselves at 3-4 on the season. The Lady Owls will be back in the water on Thursday October 5th, 2006 as they play host to WSC member Cuesta College, for a 4:00 pm showdown.
