Glendora, CA (Women’s Water Polo) – The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team got their first Western States Conference win of the season when they shutout LA Valley College 13-0 today. Bolstered by their 4th place finish at the Pasadena Tournament this past weekend the Lady Owls came out firing and never looked back.
In the 1st quarter Ivonne Garcia came out strong recording her team high 6 goals with all those goals coming in that 1st frame. Citrus would go on to score 2 more goals in that quarter while not allowing a single goal the entire game. Goalie Heather Curtis, who set a Citrus College record with 20 saves in two different games in the Pasadena Tournament, had another stand out game saving all 9 of shots fired her way. Janet Pezold also finished with a strong performance recording 4 assists for the team lead.
With the win the Lady Owls improve to 5-8 overall and 1-2 in WSC play. The Lady Owls will play host this weekend for the Citrus W
