Glendora, CA (Women’s Water Polo) – The Citrus College Women’s Water Polo team got their first Western States Conference win of the season when they shutout LA Valley College 13-0 today. Bolstered by their 4th place finish at the Pasadena Tournament this past weekend the Lady Owls came out firing and never looked back.

Photo By: nicki shawIn the 1st quarter Ivonne Garcia came out strong recording her team high 6 goals with all those goals coming in that 1st frame. Citrus would go on to score 2 more goals in that quarter while not allowing a single goal the entire game. Goalie Heather Curtis, who set a Citrus College record with 20 saves in two different games in the Pasadena Tournament, had another stand out game saving all 9 of shots fired her way. Janet Pezold also finished with a strong performance recording 4 assists for the team lead.

With the win the Lady Owls improve to 5-8 overall and 1-2 in WSC play. The Lady Owls will play host this weekend for the Citrus W
