Glendora, CA (Women’s Water Polo) – The Lady Owl’s Water Polo squad continued its momentum from its first WSC victory through the weekend as it went undefeated in its own Water Polo tournament.

The Lady Owls won all 4 games this past weekend at the tournament they hosted Photo By: Nicki ShawThe Lady Owls cruised through their matches Friday beating Pasadena 13-3 and Santa Monica 14-2. The Owls continued on through Saturday squeaking by Palomar 9-8, before rounding out the tournament with an impressive 15-9 over Rio Hondo. Ivonne Garcia led the charge for the Lady Owls scoring 21 goals. Garcia was also second on the team in steals (14) and assist (12). Janet Pezold also strung together some impressive performances throughout the weekend with 10 goals, 16 steals, and 8 assists. Heather Curtis was her usually dominant self in goal tallying up 57 blocks, while contributing to team play with a team high 13 assists. On the year Curtis has blocked an astounding 49% of the shots that have come her way.

With the wins, the Lady Owls improve to 9-8 on the season. Next up for the Lady Owls will be a trip next Wednesday the 25th to WSC member Santa Monica for a 4:00 pm showdown.
