Glendora, CA (Women’s Water Polo) – Former Citrus water polo assistant, Tim Kyle, has been named the new head women’s water polo coach at Citrus College. Kyle becomes only the 2nd coach in the programs 12 year history.
“I’m proud to take over a well established team, and I hope to continue to carry on the quality program that was set before me,” Kyle said. “I love coaching, and I think that I have a good rapport with student-athletes. I know that we will put out our best effort this season.”
Kyle, who also serves as the head men’s swimming coach, is in his tenth season with Citrus, the place where he kicked off his academic career. After leaving Citrus Kyle went on to the University of La Verne where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1997. A year later, Kyle earned his Master’s Degree from Azusa Pacific University. Besides swimming and water polo, Kyle also served as the women’s head soccer coach for six seasons.
“We are excited to have Tim on board to serve as head coach of a second sport at Citrus,” Dean of Physical Education and Athletics Jody Wise said. “Tim has the ability to lead the women’s water polo program in a positive direction.”
Along with his duties at Citrus, Kyle is a personal trainer, who enjoys camping with his family and going to the river. Kyle has a step-son named Tyler, and is expecting a baby daughter in the fall with his wife Tricia.
The 2007 Women’s Water Polo season start Saturday September 15th at the El Camino Mini-Tournament.
