Women's Water Polo Opens Conference With Big Win 

Glendora, CA (Women's Water Polo) -- The Citrus College women's water polo team, opened up their 2008 WSC slate with a big 19-6 win over visiting Santa Monica College on Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Owls were led by a pair of returning All-WSC players Crystal Fabela (6 goals, 2 assists) and Jenn Marshall (5 goals, 2 assists) in the victory.

The Lady Owls wasted no time in jumping all over the Corsairs, as they opened up the first period out-scoring Santa Monica 7-1. Citrus continued applying the pressure in the second frame as they added three more goals, to Santa Monica's one. Starting goalie, Amelia Huss had a fine showing in the win, allowing just two goals while recording nine saves.

With the win, Citrus improves to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in WSC play, while Santa Monica drops to 0-7 overall and 0-1 in WSC competition. Citrus will continue its 2008 slate as they travel South this weekend to participate in the San Diego Tournament. Play begins on Friday September 26th.
