For years at Citrus College, students have enjoyed the benefits of having linked classes with instructors working together to provide a cohesive learning environment. Now we have taken the traditional Learning Community and enhanced it with a Career Major focus.
Career Major themes were chosen on the basis of regional employment needs for qualified professionals, transferability of course work, campus program readiness, and student and faculty interest. These Career Major Learning Communities will offer transferable courses which lead toward degrees and Certificates of Achievement.
Each Learning Community will feature specifically designed Career Major Workshops with Citrus College counselors. These workshops will help with career planning, career exploration, transfer applications, and much more.
Ethnic Studies is the first of four Career Major Learning Communities, with a new Career Major Learning Community added each year through 2014.
Future Career Major Learning Communities will be: Entrepreneurial/Business, Sociology, and Digital Communication.
