Getting Help

College can be pretty overwhelming, and it's often easy to get behind or get confused about what's going on. If you have questions about the course (or astronomy in general) please feel free to ask me. You can send me e-mail at dkary@citruscollege.edu  or call me at (626) 852-8031. I feel that answering questions, both in an out of class, is one of the most important parts of my job, so I encourage you to ask if you're having trouble.

Your textbook CD-ROM and web site have several very useful materials. The web site address is www.masteringastronomy.com

If you are running into a technical problem with using Blackboard or some other DE related problem, you can contact the folks in the Distance Education office. You can contact them by sending e-mail to online@citruscollege.edu

You can also get help on course material from the Learning Center, which is upstairs in the Educational Development Center (across from Administration). They can also give you help if you're having trouble with some of the basic skills like reading, writing, and math. Another source for help on basic skills is the Lifelong Learning Center. Both of these Centers offer free services to students.

If your questions are more closely related to your course-load, what you need for transfer, or other general academic questions, you should contact the folks in the Counseling Center. They are in the first floor of the Administration building, and their phone number is (626) 914-8530.

Finally, I strongly recommend that you stop by the Career/Transfer Center, downstairs in the ED building. Only about 1/10 of the students who plan to transfer to a 4-year college actually do so. The folks in the Transfer Center can help you get to where you're trying to go.
