Online Degrees at Citrus College

If it is difficult for you to take courses because of time and location restrictions, the online degree program at Citrus College may be the answer. Online classes can provide you with the flexibility to complete coursework at times convenient to your work and family responsibilities or social activities. By working from your home computer, you may also save money normally associated with transportation and childcare costs.

Business

 Unit Requirement

To earn a degree, students need to complete 60 degree applicable units of course work.


1. At least 18 units must be taken in the major.


2. At least 28 units must be taken that meet General Education requirements. (click to see the online General Education courses)


3. 60 total degree applicable units are required (including those taken to meet major and general education requirements). Students may choose from any degree applicable Distance Education courses offered in order to meet this requirement.

 Other Requirements (i.e., obligatory fine print)

1. Students must pass the Reading Competency Examination.


2. Scholarship requirement: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.00 ("C") in all course work attempted (at any regionally accredited institution of post-secondary education). In addition, students must successfully complete (grades of "C" or above) all major requirement courses taken.


3. Residency requirement: Students must complete a minimum of 12 units in residence including attendance during the last semester, or 30 units in residence if the last semester is not in residence.


4. Students cannot double count more than two courses for the major requirements and the general education requirements.


5. Students can satisfy the math proficiency requirement by either:
    a. Completion of 2 years high school intermediate algebra and placement at the level of College Algebra
        or higher on the math assessment test, or
    b. Completion of either MATH 150 or MATH 165 with a grade "C" or better.


6. Some online courses require students to come to campus for orientation, exams, etc.
