General education course work in social/behavioral/biological sciences, humanities, language/critical thinking form the educational base for the nursing major. The nursing major has core science courses that are prerequisites to its program. Some course work may require pre-preparation courses.
Nursing course work includes clinical nursing laboratory experiences in a variety of clinical settings. Course work in the nursing major prepares the student in skill acquisition and nursing knowledge in the care, support, and management of illness states as well as the promotion of health.
Enrollment in the Nursing Program is open to persons regardless of sex, age, marital status, disability, ethnic group, religion or national origin. Persons with previous nursing education and/or experience may be considered for advanced placement and will be evaluated on an individual basis.
