The nurse assistant program at Citrus College prepares students for employment in long-term care facilities. The nurse assistant is an important member of the health care team who provides direct care to patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to take the examination for California Nurse Assistant Certification offered by an approved state testing agency for a fee.
Departmental approval is required to enroll in the class. Students must attend a mandatory orientation to receive the application and further program information. Students must submit all of the required paperwork to the health sciences office in Professional Center Building (PC 204) before being considered for enrollment.
Department approval is provided to the first 15-30 students who have submitted completed copies of the required paperwork. Some of the paperwork includes the results of a physical examination, TB skin test, lab tests and a current CPR card for the BLS provider. Please review
