The Citrus College Cosmetology program exposes students to the latest techniques in cosmetic treatment of the hair, skin, and nails. We are a Pivot Point System member school, which makes our program one of California's finest educational programs at the community college level. Pivot Point is a service mark and trademark owned by Pivot Point International Inc.

You can be confident you will receive the best possible education from dedicated faculty who are licensed cosmetologists and certified instructors with many years of professional experience.

Teaching the Pivot Point System of cosmetology training, as well as the state program curriculum, our students will acquire the practical and technological skills necessary to enter and succeed in the high-tech field of cosmetology in the new millennium. Because we are a community college this quality education comes at a fraction of the cost of private cosmetology schools.

The Cosmetology facility recently completed an extensive remodel and space addition. Our classroom are more typical of a salon environment. We maintain the latest in technology equipment to support the cosmetology curriculum. Classrooms are equipped with laser disc players, as well as computers, for class presentations.

We maintain a large clientele and you will have the opportunity to work with different people from the community. Students are encouraged to participate in a number of community service projects, as well as attend professional hair shows.

Opportunities available to cosmetology students upon successful completion of the course are:

  • hair stylist in full service salons
  • hair colorist in departmentalized salons
  • hair stylist or makeup artist for television and motion pictures
  • research and development technician testing new products
  • facial and skin care specialist providing facial treatments
  • manufacturer's representative in cosmetics sales
  • cosmetics industry educator
  • manicurist and nail art technician
  • salon ownership

Jobs are available in single salons, multiple chain salons, cosmetic companies, cruise ships, education and the entertainment industry. You may decide to own your own salon successfully managing your clientele, staff and business responsibilities.
