Professor Arredondo has been in the dental assisting field since 1975, having graduated from LA City College with an associate in arts degree. She earned her bachelor's in Business Information Systems from University of Phoenix. She has a variety of dental experiences, including chairside assisting and managing dental offices in different types of practices.
Ms. Arredondo taught dental assisting part-time for 24 years before joining Citrus as full-time faculty in 2004. Her background includes UCLA extension bilingual Dental Assisting Program, Dental Professionals of California, and Citrus College, where she has been since 1991. Her current areas of instruction are Chairside Assisting, Dental Materials, Radiology, Dental Specialties, Infection Control, Practice Management, and Registered Dental Assistant.
In addition to spending time with her husband and family, Ms. Arredondo likes to work with computers.
Professor Claudia Pohl joined Citrus College on a full-time basis in August 1999 in the RDA Program. Ms. Pohl has been in the dental assisting field since 1975 with background in general dentistry and periodontics. Her college teaching experience includes adjunct faculty positions at Chaffey College (1984-1994), Citrus College (1994-1995), and Pasadena City College (1995-1999).
Mrs. Pohl is a California Community College alum, graduating from Chaffey College in 1975. She earned her Bachelor of Vocational Education degree from California State University, San Bernardino in 1989.
Mrs. Pohl belongs to several professional organizations including the American Dental Assistants Association (having served on the Board of Trustees since 2003 and is currently President of the ADAA), the California Dental Assistants Association (serving on the Board of Directors), the Pomona Valley Dental Assistants Society (serving as President) and the California Association of Dental Assisting Teachers.
Married, with three adult children and one grandchild, this Alta Loma resident enjoys spending time with family, watching movies and reading.
Tanya Cusick has been in the dental field since 1993, graduating from Cerritos Community College in Norwalk. She earned her Bachelor's in Organization Leadership from Azusa Pacific University after attending class at Citrus College. Mrs. Cusick enjoyed working for a periodontal office in Beverly Hills and a medical and dental insurance group in Signal Hill before becoming an adjunct instructor at Citrus College in 2007. She considers herself a life-long learner, as she is currently continuing her education in teaching.
Mrs. Cusick enjoys watching her two sons play sports - roller-hockey, soccer and football.
Erica Parry has been a part-time instructor at Citrus College since 2010 in both clinical and classroom settings. She has been in the dental field since 1999. A Citrus College Alumni of the RDA program, Mrs. Parry received her Associate's degree in Science from Citrus College in 2006. Mrs. Parry has 14 years experience in a dental office with duties consisting of managing the dental team and assisting the doctor. She is extending her education by earning her Bachelor's degree. Her current areas of instruction are Chairside Assisting, Dental Specialties, Coronal Polishing, Sealants and In-service Training. Mrs. Parry is a resident of Glendora with her husband and two children, and, in her free time, she loves to watch movies, shop, and spend time with her family and friends.
Instructor Rina Gonzales is a graduate of Citrus Community College earning her Associates in Science degree and a certificate from the Registered Dental Assisting Program in 2001. She has worked in the dental field since 1998 with experience in general dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. She then joined the faculty team of the Citrus College RDA program in 2008 as an adjunct instructor.
Mrs. Gonzales belongs to the American Dental Assistants Association. Her current areas of instruction are Chairside Assisting, Preventive Dental Health, Coronal Polishing, and Sealants.
With long term goals of becoming a full time instructor in the dental assisting field, Mrs. Gonzales also enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.
