  1. What is the course I.D.# for Course Compass?
    The Course ID# for the Fall 2009 semester is: hartman58383
  2. Do I need to take the exams on campus?
    No, you may take each of the three exams on the Internet (CourseCompass). If you prefer to take an exam in the Testing Center on campus you may do so instead of taking the exam on the Internet. You do not need to take the exams both online and in the Testing Center. If you have an accommodation from DSP&S (Disabled Students Programs & Services) you must take the exams in the Testing Center.
  3. What is the student access code and where do I obtain that code for Course Compass?
    THE STUDENT ACCESS CODE IS A 6 WORD CODE THAT ENABLES THE STUDENT TO LOG ON TO COURSE COMPASS. PURCHASE YOUR BOOK TO OBTAIN THE 6 WORD STUDENT ACCESS CODE TO COURSECOMPASS. YOU WILL NEED BOTH THE STUDENT ACCESS CODE AND THE COURSE ID# TO ACCESS COURSE COMPASS AND COMPLETE THE CLASS.
  4. Can I make-up a missed essay or exam?
    There are no make-up exams or essays. DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THE WORD NO MEANS?
  5. When are the exams in the class and how do I take them?
    The 3 exams will be announced on CourseCompass. You may either take the exam on CourseCompass (click on "Assignments") link and then ("take exam" link) or you may take it in the Testing Center on campus.
  6. What if I exceed the 1 hour time limit on the exam?
    CourseCompass will give you a one minute warning before the hour time limit is up. If you do not submit your exam within one hour, your score for the exam will be deducted 2 points for each minute that you exceed the time limit.
  7. Can I use notes, chapter outlines, textbook on the exam?
    Yes, however, remember that you only have one hour to complete the 100 question exam. If you rely on the book, notes, etc. to answer many questions, you will run out of time and be penalized 2 points for each minute that you exceed the time limit.
  8. Do I need to submit the practice quizzes for each chapter?
    No, the practice quizzes are for your personal study. I encourage you to take the practice quizzes for each chapter found in CourseCompass link "Course Documents" but you do not need to submit them to me.
  9. How do I check my grades in the class?
    On CourseCompass click the link "Grades" on the toolbar. Essay grades will be posted within one week of the due date. Exam grades are posted immediately after submission.
  10. How do I submit the four essays in the class?
    Click on "Essay drop box" in CourseCompass and submit your essay there.
  11. How many words should the essay contain?
    Essays should contain a MAXIMUM of 1,000 words per essay.
  12. What should I do if I have a problem with Course Compass?

  13. Is there extra credit in the class?
    There is NO extra credit in the class so PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR WAYS TO EARN EXTRA CREDIT POINTS. There MAY BE an occasional 5 point bonus question posted on the discussion board. The person with the FIRST correct answer will earn five extra points.
  14. How do I log into and register for the Course Compass website?
    Click on the CourseCompass link and register to get a log in name and password. Course materials will be on both sites, http://www.coursecompass.com and http://www.citruscollege.edu/de  
  15. What is the best browser to use for Course Compass?
    We suggest that you use Internet Explorer.
  16. How do I get the student access code from Course Compass if I have a copy of the Health: The Basics?
    When you purchase the textbook, Health: The Basics, it should come bundled with the student access kit (code). If you purchase a used textbook you will need to purchase separately the student access code from either the Owl Bookstore. or directly from http://www.coursecompass.com  
  17. Do I need to do anything if I change my email address?
    Yes, it is very important to update your email on Course Compass. Log-in to Course Compass and change your user email address.
  18. Is there an in-person meeting requirement for this class?
    No, you will not be required to attend a meeting on campus.
  19. Will my security software interfere with the Course Compass log-in?
    If you are unsuccessful in logging in to CourseCompass, disable your security software prior to making another attempt.
  20. How do I locate the example of the chapter 9 outline?
    The chapter 9 outline is located on the CourseCompass web site http://www.coursecompass.com  - under the "Course Documents" section - then scroll to the chapter 9 link then to the chapter 9 outline. This chapter has been outlined for you, it is an example for you to follow for future chapters.
  21. How can I check to see if my computer's system meets the requirements to view the material for the Health Science Distance Ed class?
    Go to the Distance Education Online Orientation: Technical Requirements.
  22. How do I go back to a previous question on an exam?
    Once you start the exam, do not click the back button. If you want to go back to a previous question use the scroll bar on the right.
  23. Where do I find the skill related factors for the Fitness Factors essay?
    Go to http://www.coursecompass.com and click on the bar "Communication/Discussion Board" click on the topics to access the information.
