Welcome to Sociology 202 Online!
In this class, emphasis is placed on contemporary American society and social problems and special attention is given to the causes and effects of social problems.
What will I be doing?
You're going to read, take open book quizzes, write two papers about sociological topics, take three tests and answer questions on the message board. The majority of your grade comes from the tests and the papers. However, the message board and quizzes are very important and time consuming so, if you get behind, it can be a problem. Please make sure you've got a good study schedule set for yourself before you begin this class. Every semester, people take this class and fall behind. It can be fun if you stay current with your work.
What do I do first?
Your first step, if you're enrolled is to email the instructor DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES. That's not the week before, that's not the week after. The first week. You will need to use your Official Citrus College issued email account. Your email is established when you are registered for classes. You must have access to your email account prior to starting the class.

Once you get to the Blackboard welcome page, click on the Contemporary Social Problems course link on the right, and you will go to the course site. Familiarize yourself with the course site and if you have any questions please email your instructor with your concerns. Get your textbook and get started with your initial assignments. A major key to your success in this course will be keeping up with both the reading and other assignments.
