Citrus makes every effort to comply with the applicable regulations of the state Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal-OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (Cal-EPA), the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) and numerous other regulatory agencies.
The Citrus staff have access to a Safety Training Manual, which contains our written safety programs, such as the Illness and Injury Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Plan. These documents lay the foundation upon which we build an awareness and practice of safety by all employees. The manual is a comprehensive look at roles and responsibilities and the where, how and who of training, informing and communicating safety concerns. Updated frequently, it is distributed to all department managers and supervisors. All employees are encouraged to review it and become familiar with its contents.
When employees understand their rights and responsibilities for preventing work place illness or injury, they are more likely to feel empowered, take ownership and pride in their work, and become better role models for students at Citrus to follow.
