The YESS-ILP statewide program is funded through the Foundation for California Community Colleges and is committed to provide current and former foster youth ages 16 through 24 with:
- individualized support through connection to campus and community resources and opportunities;
and - life skills training, with an emphasis on education, financial literacy, employment/career options and daily living skills.
YESS-ILP is designed to communicate a positive message --
YESS, together we can empower current and former foster youth to transition successfully to self-sufficiency and adulthood.
To determine if your youth is eligible and qualifies for either of these services, please follow the following Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) procedure:
- Have the youth contact his/her social worker to inquire about the YESS Program. The social worker will contact the youth's Transitional Coordinator. He/she will complete the necessary paperwork and refer the youth to the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC). The FCCC will then contact Citrus College's YESS program.
- Citrus College's Outreach advisor will process any necessary paperwork and contact the youth to verify his/her interest in the program.
