Citrus College Receives Green Community College Award 
Green Construction at Citrus College
The Green Team at Citrus College was formed in June 2008.
Membership is open to all who are interested and already includes faculty from biology, automotive, architecture, drafting, water tech, forestry, ceramics, cosmetology, journalism, business, heating and air conditioning, public works, theatre tech, and administration of justice. Student representatives are also included, as well as the environmental health and safety coordinator, and the directors of facilities and vocational education.
The group has support from Vocational Technical Education Act (VTEA) funding and will concentrate its efforts in two areas:
* instructional curriculum to prepare students for careers involving sustainable resources and renewable energy; and
* the Citrus College carbon footprint – how to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
