The Learning Center houses the Language Lab and the College Success Center. Lab supervisors are available to assist students during open hours.
Language Lab
The Learning Center's Language Lab, located in ED 231, is a fully integrated, digitized audio lab open for use by ESL students. Interactive software and videos addressing study skills, Internet and computer skills are also available. Students enrolled in ESL will be given an orientation to the lab early in the semester. The time required in the lab for each of these classes will be outlined by the instructor
The focus of the Language Lab is to support instructional objectives and student learning outcomes of ESL students through the use of technology and directed learning activities. The lab also presents opportunities for students to gain an understanding and appreciation of American culture, as well as, helping to prepare students for the demands of transitioning into transferable non-ESL courses in fulfillment of their undergraduate goals. Through Tutorial Services, students wishing to practice their conversation skills in a small group setting can attend conversation groups. Conversation group leaders assist students with grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. Lab credit is earned for participation.

Student ID cards are required in order to use the Language Lab.

College Success Center/Writing Café
The College Success Center, located in ED 224, provides instructional support for English 30 and English 40 students. The faculty lab staff is available to provide guidance and academic assistance in this 22-station multimedia, online, and networked lab. One-on-one and small group instruction supplements course work; faculty-led Student Success Workshops and English/Writing Clinics are conducted daily.
