Biographical Note Founded in 1915, Citrus Junior College was the first two-year college to be Dr. Haydenestablished in Los Angeles County and only the fifth in the state.The genesis of the college began under the direction of Dr. Floyd S. Hayden, the principal of Citrus Union High School and one of the leaders of the community college movement in California. Dr. Hayden served as the first president of the college, which, for several years, was located on the same campus as the high school.
Scope & Contents The F.S. Hayden Papers consist of school documents, photographs, publications, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, and other papers, as well as the personal book collection, of the College's founder, Floyd S. Hayden.
