Citrus College to Hold its 94th Commencement Ceremony

What:
Approximately 400 students will be awarded associate’s degrees during Citrus College’s 94th Annual Commencement Ceremony.  Several individuals, including Superintendent/President Dr. Geraldine M. Perri, will address the graduates during this special event.

The ceremony will also include the presentation of the 2010 Alumni Achievement Award. This year’s honor will be awarded posthumously to Llewellyn Eugene Dudley, a 1965 graduate of Citrus College who donated $100,000 to the Citrus College Foundation for student scholarships.

After the speeches, each student will approach the stage to receive their degree from a member of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees.  The ceremony will conclude with a recessional and is expected to last an estimated 1.5 hours.

Who:
The following individuals/groups will be in attendance:

- Citrus College Class of 2010

- Citrus College Faculty, Staff and Administrators

- Citrus College Board of Trustees

- The friends and families of Citrus College’s graduates

When:
Saturday, June 12, 2010
The ceremony will begin promptly at 10 a.m.

Where:
Citrus College Stadium
1000 W. Foothill Blvd.
Glendora, CA. 91741

Why:
Commencement is a time for graduates to share the excitement and importance of their academic accomplishments with peers, family, and friends.  It is also a time for Citrus College’s administrators, faculty, and staff to pay tribute to its students for their outstanding efforts that have culminated in the award of a degree.

Every year, the commencement ceremony also serves as an affirmation of the quality academic programs and comprehensive student support services that Citrus College offers.

How:
There is ample seating in the stadium and no limit to the number of guests a graduate may invite.  No guest tickets or parking permits are required.  However, due to the many construction projects currently underway on campus, parking and stadium access is limited.  Please visit http://www.citruscollege.edu/stdntsrv/grad for additional information.

Members of the media are asked to confirm their attendance with the Office of External Relations prior to the event.  In turn, the Office of External Relations will assist in making all necessary accommodations and can also connect reporters with outstanding graduates and key college personnel.
