Citrus College to Host Cinco De Mayo Celebration

 

What:             
The Citrus College Latina Leadership Network and Associated Students of Citrus College are hosting a special Cinco de Mayo celebration that will be held on campus this week.  The event will include a historic overview of this festive holiday, salsa dancing lessons, and music by the Citrus College Orchestra Sazon.  Traditional Mexican cuisine from Burrito Village will be available for $8.00.  Proceeds from food sales will be contributed to the LLN’s student scholarship fund.

Why:              
To celebrate the freedom and liberty that the citizens of Puebla, Mexico fought for against the French on May 5, 1862.  This event builds cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity on campus and within the surrounding community. 

How:              
The event is open to the public.  Parking for campus visitors is $5.
