Citrus College Names 2011 Man and Woman of the Year

Academic Achievement

Academic Achievement:  David Keys, a 29-year-old Army veteran from Upland and Jacqueline Deeb, a 19-year-old engineering major from Glendora, were awarded top honors at the recent Citrus College Academic Achievement Awards.  Keys was named the 2011 Citrus College Man of the Year, while Deeb received the 2011 Citrus College Woman of the Year honor.  A committee of college administrators, supervisors, and student services representatives selected these individuals because of their impressive grade point averages and many contributions to Citrus College and the community at large.  From Left to Right:  Dr. Jeanne Hamilton, vice president of student services; David Keys; and Jacqueline Deeb.

 

Student Success

Student Success:  Jacqueline Deeb, a 19-year-old engineering major from Glendora, and David Keys, a 29-year-old Army veteran from Upland, were recently awarded top honors at the Citrus College Academic Achievement Awards.  They were selected from Citrus College’s student body of nearly 13,000 to receive the 2011 Man and Woman of the Year designations.  Deeb and Keys were given these honors because of their impressive grade point averages and many contributions to Citrus College and the community at large.  From Left to Right:  Jacqueline Deeb and David Keys.

 

Student Veteran

Student Veteran:  David Keys, a 29-year-old social science major, was recently named the 2011 Citrus College Man of the Year at the college’s annual Academic Achievement Awards ceremony.   A resident of Upland, Keys is an Army Veteran who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 82nd Airborne Division.  He will be transferring to the University of California at Berkeley as an international relations major for the fall 2011 semester.

 

Engineering Excellence

Engineering Excellence:  Jacqueline Deeb, a 19-year-old engineering major, was recently named the 2011 Citrus College Woman of the Year during the college’s annual Academic Achievement Awards ceremony.   A resident of Glendora, Deeb is a member of Citrus GraviTeam, a group of nine Citrus College students who will be traveling to Houston this month to flight test an experiment at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).  She will be transferring to Cal Poly, Pomona for the fall 2011 semester and hopes to pursue a career in engineering.
