Citrus College Hosts Science Event for Girls

Eight grade middle school STEM students

Showing a thirst for knowledge:  Eighth grade girls from local middle schools attend a science-themed workshop at a recent STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) workshop. The event was co-hosted by the American Association of University Women’s East Valley Branch and hosted by Citrus College in Glendora.

SCIENCE MADE FUN:  Experiments were the order of the day as eighth graders from Azusa, Duarte, Charter Oak, Glendora and Monrovia district middle schools were treated to the America Association of University Women’s STEM Conference at Citrus College. Erin Nelson (not pictured) developmental engineer second lieutenant in the United States Air Force; Laura Murdock, special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (not pictured) and other women involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields spoke during the workshops throughout the day.
