Citrus College Offers Summer 2012 Program in Florence, Italy

Spend part of your summer living and learning in enchanting Florence, Italy.

The Citrus College Study Abroad Program is once again accepting applications for its summer 2012 program in Florence, Italy. The deadline to apply is April 2.

From June 21 through July 14, students may earn 3 to 6 units of Citrus College transferable credit while living and studying in Florence and partaking of the country’s immeasurable beauty. 

Participants live in fully-equipped apartments in the historical center of Florence within walking distance to the university. Students receive museum passes with unlimited entry to the Uffizi, Accademia, Bargello, Pitti Palace, San Marco Museum and the Medici Chapel. Several other tours are offered  including the Opera del Duomo, Baptistery, Santa Croce Basilica, Santa Maria Novella, Brancacci Chapel, and the Laurentian Library.

The Citrus College Study Abroad Program offers two courses for students studying in Italy: Art History and Appreciation- Fundamentals and Introduction to World Literature- Ancient to Early Modern. Each course is a 3-unit, CSU/UC transferable course, and students can enroll in one or both courses.

Many social and cultural activities maximize the benefits of living and studying in Italy.

Additionally, excellent on-site student services staff are available at the program’s student services center and apartments. The program also offers several exciting day trips and optional excursions to Pisa, Venice and Rome.
