Citrus College Students Examine Numerous Transfer Options at Recent College Fair

Representatives from approximately 40 four-year colleges and universities visited Citrus College on Thursday, October 18 for the Fall 2012 College Fair.  During this event, Citrus College students gathered information from seven University of California institutions, seven California State University institutions, and more than 20 private and/or out-of-state schools.  Included among the list of participants was the University of California, Berkeley; the University of California, Los Angeles; California State University, Fullerton; California Polytechnic University, Pomona; Azusa Pacific University; the University of Southern California; and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

The purpose of the college fair was to expose students who are planning to transfer to four-year colleges or universities to the variety of options available to them.  The students had the opportunity to ask questions, pick up applications, and learn the transfer requirements for each institution.

“Students received information about application filing periods, financial aid, housing, grade point average requirements, transfer student resources and much more,” said Raul Sanchez, event organizer and coordinator of the Citrus College Career/Transfer Center.  “This event helped raise awareness about the transfer process, which in turn allows students to make informed decisions about their future academic endeavors.
