The Committee's Structure
The members of the committee shall be appointed by the president of the Classified School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter #101 based on the individual classified member's interest in contributing to this committee. Members shall serve a two-year term with the option to renew membership. If a member cannot participate on the committee due to scheduling, a classified member shall be appointed to fill the unexpired term. The selection of the members will be sensitive to broad representation from campus departments. At the last meeting of the fiscal year, the committee will select its chairperson and co-chairperson.

There are ten (10) classified members on the committee.

Responsibilities and Assignments
The purpose of the Classified Development Committee is to plan professional development activities and workshops for classified staff, and to promote tuition reimbursement and select recipients.

Schedule of Meetings
The Classified Staff Development Committee will meet monthly at a mutually agreeable time convenient for all.  Currently, meetings are scheduled on the last Wednesday of the month, 2 p.m. in the Library Conference Room A.

Goals
The Classified Staff Development Committee has outlined the following as its goals:

  • refine the staff development guidelines
  • increase interest and participation in the program
  • increase awareness of the program
