Technical Assistance Lab
The TAL is a one (1) unit credit course that is designed for students with disabilities who require adaptive computer technologies to effectively access the computer.
The student will become empowered through the use of individualized instruction, adaptive computer technology, and compensatory strategies inteneded to lessen the impact of the disability for achieving success in college.
Course Objectives:
- Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to apply necessary adaptations required to access the computer.
- Apply instruction in MS Word to various situations typical of the community college environment (e.g. essays, research papers, business correspondence, resumes)
- Develop increased proficiency in the overall use of computers
Noncredit Technical Assistance Lab
The Noncredit High Tech Lab is intended for DSPS students who need instruction and/or training in the use of a particular type of adaptive computer technology or for those who need to use adaptive technology not available in other campus computer labs.
