Dr. Patricia A. Rasmussen of Glendora was elected to serve as a member of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees in 2007, representing Glendora and portions of San Dimas. She currently serves as the president of the Board of Trustees and the trustee representative on the Citrus College Foundation Board of Directors.
A career educator, Dr. Rasmussen taught English and journalism at the high school and college levels. In 1983, she joined the Citrus College staff where she held several administrative positions, including dean of planning and economic development; administrative dean of planning and institutional advancement; director of development/assistant to the president; and director of public affairs. Dr. Rasmussen retired as vice president of institutional advancement at Mt. San Antonio College in 2005.
Dr. Rasmussen holds an Associate of Arts degree in English/journalism from El Camino College; a bachelor's degree in English from California State University, San Diego; a master's degree in communications from California State University, Fullerton and a doctorate in educational management from the University of La Verne. She has received many awards for her community service, including the 59th Assembly District Woman of the Year and the Glendora Coordinating Council Humanitarian Award.
A longtime resident of Glendora, Dr. Rasmussen was a two-term member of the Glendora Unified School District Board of Education and served on the Glendora Public Library board. She is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Glendora Kiwaniannes and a member of Equestrian Trails, Inc. Corral 35, a local riding organization. Dr. Rasmussen was honored as one of the recipient's of the "Life's Work" award from the YWCA of the San Gabriel Valley at their Woman of Achievement In the Field of Education event on May 21, 2013. She was honored in 2017 as the City of Glendora's Hometown Hero at the Los Angeles County Fair.
