The Citrus College Promise aims to fulfill the academic potential of Early Decision students by removing barriers that hinder academic progress by providing students with academic support, support services and financial relief. Launching in fall 2018, approximately one third of the one million dollar annual cost of the Citrus College Promise will be paid for from privately-raised funds by the Citrus College Foundation.
The cost of education has risen rapidly nationwide, but at Citrus College, we are making quality and local college education more affordable than ever. Ultimately, the expense of an uneducated community far outweighs the cost connected to educating incoming students in the Citrus College Promise. Initial five year start-up of the Citrus College Promise will require approximately $3.8 million. Every dollar counts and all support is needed and appreciated.
The Citrus College Promise has several distinctive differences from most promise programs: two years of financial assistance and academic services; a textbook lending program; additional financial relief for middle income students; and student support services through the proven I Will Complete College (IWCC) program. The IWCC program ensures students develop effective college-going behaviors, address non-cognitive needs, and access financial, academic, counseling, and personal needs resources so that students achieve their academic goals.
Citrus College has been providing academic excellence in our region for more than 100 years - the newly established Citrus College Promise will ensure we continue this long standing tradition. It’s a promise from Citrus College - the Citrus College Promise: bringing higher education within reach.
