Faculty Learning Institute

The mission of staff development at Citrus College is to provide and coordinate professional development activities for employees through collegially planned learning opportunities that support student learning and the institution’s strategic goals.

FLI is composed of 10 volunteer faculty members, appointed by the Faculty Senate president. This group meets monthly.

Responsibilities and Assignments

The purpose of the FLI Committee is to plan professional development activities and workshops for full-time and adjunct faculty, to interact with the FLEX subcommittee to plan appropriate activities for professional development, to plan in-service workshops for faculty, to approve individual faculty requests for travel from staff development funds, and to encourage faculty to take full advantage of professional development opportunities.

History

In fall 2008, the Faculty Development Committee and Flex Committee merged and formed the Faculty Learning Institute.
