COMMUNITY DAY SHOWCASES COLLEGE PROGRAMS, SERVICES
Community and business leaders toured Citrus College and heard several presentations during Community Day at Citrus College on March 3.
Hosted by the Citrus College Foundation, Community Day at Citrus College provides attendees with the opportunity to learn more about new developments and activities occurring at the college. The college superintendent/president had the opportunity to provide a college update and to share key components of the 2016-2021 Citrus College Strategic Plan.
Guests also learned about the Citrus College Biotechnology program from Dr. Barbara Juncosa, faculty member, and Dr. Eric Rabitoy, dean of natural and physical sciences; the automotive technology program from Dr. Jim Lancaster, dean of curriculum, career, technical and continuing education; the esthetician program from Ann Everett, faculty member; the Veterans Success Center from Dr. Maryanne Tolano-Leveque, dean of students, and Danny Jimenez, student veteran; and the Haugh Performing Arts Center from Linda Graves, interim director of performing arts. In addition, Fred Diamond, director of facilities and construction, provided a facilities update.
The campus walking tour included stops at the library, the Center for Innovation, the Visual Arts Building and the Student Services Building.
"This was the second Community Day held during the academic year, and I extend my deep appreciation to the Foundation for making it happen," said the college superintendent/president. "There are so many great initiatives and activities taking place at Citrus College; opportunities like this allow us to share college successes with members of the communities we serve. Their support will enable Citrus College to meet its goal to increase student success and completion."
