Glendora, Calif. - During its May 9 meeting, the Duarte City Council presented Citrus College Superintendent/President Dr. Geraldine M. Perri with a certificate of honor in recognition of her being named a "Woman of the Year" for the 25th Senate District.
Dr. Edward Ortell, Citrus College Board Trustee and Duarte representative, joined Dr. Perri, members of the Duarte City Council and the Duarte Unified School District (DUSD) to recognize the council's honor and appreciation of Dr. Perri as well as its support of Citrus College. "Dr. Perri epitomizes all that the Woman of the Year Award represents," said Dr. Ortell. "Her commitment to student success has contributed greatly to Citrus College's reputation as a national and local leader in higher education, and her leadership has been instrumental to the college's legacy of academic success."
On March 26, Dr. Perri was named a "Woman of the Year" by Senator Anthony Portantino and was honored at a special ceremony in Pasadena where 10 women were recognized for their contributions and accomplishments within the 25th Senate District.
