Dr. Patricia A. Rasmussen Installed as President of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees
Glendora, Calif. (Jan. 22, 2018) - Dr. Patricia A. Rasmussen was installed as the president of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees during the board's annual organizational meeting held on Dec. 5. She was first elected to the board in 2007. As one of five governing board members, Dr. Rasmussen represents Glendora and portions of San Dimas.
A career educator, Dr. Rasmussen taught English and journalism at the high school and college levels. In 1983, she joined the Citrus College staff where she held several administrative positions, including dean of planning and economic development; administrative dean of planning and institutional advancement; director of development/assistant to the president; and director of public affairs. Dr. Rasmussen retired as vice president of institutional advancement at Mt. San Antonio College in 2005.
"Being selected to serve as board president by my colleagues on the board of trustees is truly an honor," said Dr. Rasmussen. "Higher education has been a focal point of my life and career for many years, and I am very proud to serve as a trustee for Citrus College." Dr. Rasmussen holds an associate of arts degree in English/journalism from El Camino College; a bachelor's degree in English from California State University, San Diego; a master's degree in communications from California State University, Fullerton; and a doctorate in educational management from the University of La Verne.
Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees members also installed during the meeting were Mrs. Joanne Montgomery, vice president, and Mrs. Susan M. Keith, board clerk/secretary. Dr. Edward C. Ortell and outgoing board president, Dr. Barbara R. Dickerson, are members of the board. Ms. Yachi Rivas will remain in her position as student trustee.
"The vision and dedication of the board of trustees has changed the lives of thousands of students and contributed to the outstanding reputation of Citrus College," said Superintendent/President Geraldine M. Perri, Ph.D. "I am grateful for their leadership and their willingness to serve their communities in such a meaningful and important way."
