Citrus College recognized as national leader by monthly magazine
The Hispanic Outlook on Education has once again included Citrus College in its annual rankings of the nation's top 100 colleges and universities for Hispanic students.
Using data provided by the National Center for Education Statistics and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, the monthly magazine determined which colleges and universities in the United States enrolled and awarded degrees to the most Hispanic students. Its resulting "Top 100 Schools for Hispanics" list was published in October 2020.
The magazine ranked Citrus College among the top 10 colleges and universities in two categories: ninth in the country for conferring family and consumer sciences/human sciences degrees to Hispanic students and 10th in the country for conferring English language and literature/letters degrees to Hispanic students.
Additionally, the publication ranked Citrus College 17th in the country for total associate degrees awarded to Hispanic students in 2019 and 31st in the country among two-year schools for total Hispanic student enrollment during the 2018-2019 academic year.
"Being recognized as one of the top degree producers in the nation for Hispanic students reflects our commitment to serving our diverse student body," said the college superintendent/president. "The faculty and staff at Citrus College are dedicated to providing all students with programs and tools they need to succeed."
