College continues Military Friendly School streak
Citrus College has done it again! For the 13th consecutive year, the college has been recognized as a Military Friendly School by VIQTORY, a service-disabled and veteran-owned small business that operates the Military Friendly brand.
Every year since 2003, VIQTORY has presented Military Friendly honors to the top 15% of the nation's colleges, universities and schools that demonstrate a commitment to embracing military students. Citrus College has been recognized by the organization since 2011.
"Our continued designation as a Military Friendly School is made possible by the many programs and services the Citrus College Veterans Success Center has in place for our student veteran community," said Dr. Greg Schulz, superintendent/president of Citrus College. "Serving this important student population is a privilege, and I know the campus community is proud of our progress in this area."
To compile the annual Military Friendly School List, VIQTORY gathers information from data-driven surveys, public data sources and personal data collected from veterans. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey, and Citrus College is one of only 282 institutions in the nation to be granted Gold Award status. Gold Awards are presented to those schools that have leading practices, outstanding outcomes and effective programs.
"I am incredibly grateful to the center's counselors and support staff for devoting their time and energy into meeting the needs of our student veterans," Superintendent/President Schulz said. "There is no doubt that their efforts are helping some of our nation's most heroic citizens reach their academic and professional goals."
The 2023-2024 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine.
