Citrus College Sexual Violence and Prevention Statement
Title IX of the Education Amendment Act of 1972 (20 U.S.C.§ 1681 et seq.) is an all-encompassing federal law that prohibits discrimination based on the gender of students and employees in educational institutions which receive federal financial assistance.
Title IX states, "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance" (20 U.S.C.§ 1681 et seq.).
Citrus College, in compliance with federal and state laws, does not discriminate on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, or gender in educational programs, services, or activities. Such programs include admissions, financial aid, employment, and equal access to the college facilities. In addition, Citrus College is committed to maintaining a safe educational and working environment free from discrimination, harassment, or retaliation on the basis of a protected category.
