Congratulations to the staff of the Citrus College Clarion student newspaper and Logos Magazine! They recently earned several important forms of recognition at the Journalism Association of Community Colleges State Convention in San Francisco.
The college had six winners from statewide publication contests, which are awards based on work published by the Clarion and Logos during the 2025 calendar year.
Publication contest winners:
- Multimedia journalism package: Henoch Perez and Nic Hernandez, meritorious winner, for their presentation on the final days of the LB Building
- Magazine illustration: Anaia Robinson, third place, for her Citrus Wordle in the fall edition of Logos
- News story: Angie Hernandez, fourth place, for her story on the opening of the A Line extension
- Feature photo: Henoch Perez, honorable mention, for a photo from a story on a literary community in Claremont
- Magazine news feature: Kennedy Campos-Morales, honorable mention, for her story on an English toffee store near campus
- Magazine profile article: Angie Hernandez, honorable mention, for her story on a Citrus student using cosplay for self-expression
Congrats to the entire Citrus College Communication program, including journalism instructor Patrick Schmiedt and all students involved with the Clarion and Logos!
