Two Citrus College students, Destiny Cambero and Philippe Schicker, have been named as semifinalists for The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation transfer scholarship. Destiny and Philippe were selected from a competitive pool of nearly 1,500 applicants from across the nation.

The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship for the nation's top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor's degrees at four-year colleges or universities. Each Cooke Scholar has access to generous financial support for two to three years, college planning support, ongoing advising and the opportunity to connect with a thriving community of fellow scholars.

Last year, 47 community college students each received up to $40,000 to complete their bachelor's degree. This year's results should be announced by mid-April. Good luck to Destiny and Philippe!
