Recently, 12 Citrus College theatre arts students attended the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Region 8 in Mesa, Arizona. Three students received special recognition:
Ms. Maddison Stirrit progressed from the preliminary round to the semifinal round in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship competition. She was a finalist for the Musical Theatre Initiative Award after auditioning with a one-minute solo.
Ms. Jessica Pineda received honorable mention and first runner-up for her work competing in the Stage Management Fellowships category.
Mr. Abel Marquez won first place in the SDC Student Directing Fellowship contest, and he will be traveling (all expenses paid!) to Washington, D.C., this April to compete in the national festival.
