The future starts now for over 200 Citrus College scholars
To commemorate the beginning of a new academic year, the Citrus College Foundation hosted its eighth annual Scholarship Reception and Donor Appreciation Celebration on Aug. 18. This popular event underscores the important relationship between students and the supportive communities that contribute to their success.
More than 200 Citrus College students were awarded over $125,000 in scholarships, enabling them to begin or continue their education at the college, or to transfer to a four-year college or university. Also in attendance were the Associated Students of Citrus College and more than 80 individual, family, organizational and corporate donors who were recognized for their generosity and commitment to supporting student success.
The theme for this year's celebration, "Your Future Starts Now," perfectly reflects the sense of excitement and anticipation that the recognized students feel as they contemplate their future achievements.
"While the exceptional students who received scholarships are certainly deserving of our respect and admiration, none of this would have been possible without the support of their family and friends, the dedication of the college's faculty and staff, and the resources provided by those who support and serve the Citrus College Foundation," said the college's superintendent/president. "On behalf of Citrus College, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who believes in the transformational power of education and what it will mean to these scholarship recipients."
