The Career Pathways grant provides a connection between local high schools and regional occupational programs (ROPs).
This is accomplished through the college articulation process, which allows high school students enrolled in specific career and technical education (CTE) courses to seek college credit for work completed in high school.
Title 5 states: 55051 Articulation of High School Courses
(a) For purposes of this section, the term "articulated high school course" means a high school course or courses that the faculty in the appropriate discipline, using policies and procedures approved by the curriculum committee established pursuant to section 55002, have determined to be comparable to a specific community college course.
High school articulation provides a streamlined path for students who complete a program of study in high school and wish to continue on that path at the community college. Students may earn college credit by participating in the credit by examination (CBE). Depending on the discipline, the assessments may include a written exam, multiple-choice exam, practical, and/or portfolio review. Students must pass the exam with a "B" or higher. The CBE will be proctored at Citrus College unless other arrangements have been made.
A Citrus College CTE Course-to-Course Articulation Agreement is approved when the high school course(s) have been reviewed by the faculty in the appropriate discipline and have determined the high school course to be comparable to a specific Citrus College course which is accepted to or in lieu of coursework at Citrus College. The CTE course-to-course articulation agreement is to be renewed every year through the
CTE articulation portal.
