Employee Health Benefits
Citrus College prioritizes the wellbeing of its employees. In addition to annual paid holidays, the college district offers a comprehensive health benefits package. This package includes fully paid medical, dental and vision insurance for eligible employees — all premiums for health coverage are paid 100% by the college district. These benefits enable employees to manage their healthcare costs predictably. Subscribers are only responsible for deductibles and co-payments.
Health Benefits Packages
Option 1 Anthem Blue Cross Medical Plan
The Anthem Blue Cross medical plan is a PPO (preferred provider plan). There is a
guaranteed payment to doctors who are Anthem providers (80% paid by Anthem, 20% paid
by employee) with a $100 deductible per person/$200 per family per calendar year (January
1-December 31). Maximum out-of-pocket per calendar year is $350 per person/$700 per
family, including deductibles.
Option 2 Kaiser Permanente Medical Plan
The Kaiser Permanente medical plan is a HMO plan with no deductibles. There is a $5
copayment per office visit and $5 copayment per prescription. Includes employee and
eligible dependents. If single plan is selected, there are dollars remaining for tax-sheltered
annuity.
Option 3 Waiver of Medical
If the employee is covered by another medical plan, the district medical coverage
may be waived, thus freeing up dollars for a tax-sheltered annuity.

In addition to one of the options listed above, employees receive the following:
Dental through Blue Shield Dental Plan
Regardless of whether the Blue Shield plan is selected as the chosen medical plan,
Blue Shield provides every employee (and eligible dependents) a dental plan. This
dental plan is also a PPO (preferred provider), which guarantees payment to dentists
who are Blue Shield providers. The plan pays 100% for twice-a-year cleaning and x-ray
services and 90% for restorative work.
Vision through VSP Plan (Vision Service Plan)
The Vision Service Plan (VSP) provides benefits for vision examinations once every
12 months, lenses every 12 months if necessary and frames every 24 months if needed.
VSP is a preferred provider plan, meaning that these services are guaranteed when
you use their network of eye doctors.
Life Insurance through The Hartford
A $50,000 life insurance policy is included in the Citrus College benefit package.
This policy is in effect as long as the employee is an active, benefit-eligible employee
with the Citrus Community College District.
