TRANSFER CENTER PLAN
Citrus College Transfer Center Plan 2024-2029 [2.6 MB PDF]
SYNOPSIS
The Citrus College Transfer Center Plan 2024-2029 establishes a five-year framework to strengthen transfer outcomes and support students in successfully transitioning to four-year institutions. The plan aligns with the college's Strategic Plan, Student Equity Plan and Comprehensive Program Review and fulfills Title 5 requirements that prioritize transfer as a primary institutional mission with a focused emphasis on increasing access and success for underrepresented students.
Guided by 10 years of transfer data, the plan outlines structured goals, measurable outcomes and assigned responsibilities across core areas of service. These include targeted outreach to disproportionately impacted student populations, expanded transfer conferences and university tours, application assistance forums and partnerships with campus programs serving diverse student groups.
The plan also prioritizes academic preparation and articulation by supporting associate degrees for tansfer, implementing Cal-GETC by fall 2025 and expanding course-to-course and major agreements with four-year institutions to streamline pathways and reduce time to degree.
To ensure students receive accurate and timely information, the Transfer Center will provide ongoing counselor training, develop workshops and actively disseminate transfer resources. Student progress will be closely monitored through ADT verification, UC TAG reviews and milestone communications that prompt follow-up counseling appointments.
Additional components include coordinated university representative visits, transition workshops for admitted students, maintenance of a comprehensive resource library and website and collaboration with campus services to connect students with tutoring, financial aid and other supports.
The plan further addresses facilities, staffing assessments, advisory committee engagement and annual evaluation and reporting to the Chancellor's Office to ensure accountability, compliance and continuous improvement.
Overall, the Citrus College Transfer Center Plan is designed to enhance transfer awareness, streamline academic pathways, expand equity-focused outreach and increase successful transfer rates for Citrus College students over the next five years.
