The nurse assistant training program at Citrus College prepares students for employment in long-term care facilities. A nurse assistant is an essential member of the health care team who provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Upon successful completion of this course, students qualify to take the Competency Evaluation Examination for the California Nurse Assistant Certification offered by an approved state testing agency for a fee (set forth by the agency).
To receive the application and further program information, students must attend the mandatory orientation of the semester they wish to enroll in, as applications are subject to change. All required documentation must be submitted to the health sciences office in the Professional Center Building (PC 204) in order to be considered for enrollment. Admission is based on a first-come, first-served basis. All documents must remain valid throughout the program (no exceptions).
Department approval is provided for the first 15-30 students who submit the COMPLETED required paperwork. Upon submission and approval of the application, the student will receive clearance to register for the course. Some of the paperwork includes the results of a physical examination, TB skin test, lab tests, and a current CPR card for the BLS provider. Please review
