In this session, we will share the Citrus College results from the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) conducted in spring 2022. We will discuss the five benchmark areas of student engagement, survey findings and suggested strategies for improvement provided by CCSSE. Participants will have an opportunity to share their effective student engagement practices for inside and outside the classroom.

Honors and You: How You Can Participate in the Honors Transfer Program

This presentation will provide an overview of what an honors class is and what makes it different from a traditional class. Additional topics include the benefits students receive from participating in an honors program and how faculty can help identify and recruit honors students. Resources and Strategies to Prevent Phantom Student Fraud and Abuse

For the past two years, California Community Colleges have been the target of fraud by individuals pretending to be students ("phantom students"). Attendees will learn the background and context for how sophisticated fraud rings and bot fraud operates within California community colleges. Presenters will review illustrative cases at Citrus College and share strategies attendees can use to combat potential phantom student fraud and abuse. The presentation will also describe the cross disciplinary efforts at Citrus College to reduce fraud to date, share lessons learned from recent system incidents and discuss long term strategies and resources to mitigate attempts of fraud and abuse.
