Emergency Response and Campus Safety

Campus safety officers serve as first responders for on-campus emergencies outside of the Student Wellness Center. Upon notification, they will respond promptly, assess the situation and, if necessary, contact emergency medical services (EMS). If emergency transport is not required, campus safety may escort the individual to the Student Wellness Center for further evaluation.

In the event of an on-campus emergency:

  • From a campus phone, dial 8611 and provide your location along with relevant details. Campus safety will respond immediately.

  • If a campus phone is unavailable, call (626) 914-8611 from your cell phone.

  • For life-threatening emergencies, dial 9-911 from a campus phone or 911 from a mobile phone. Once safe, notify campus safety as soon as possible to help prevent delays in response.

The Student Wellness Center staff provides first aid and emergency care for students and employees. If a condition requires further treatment or transport, EMS will be contacted.

For those with health insurance, payment for EMS transport will be handled through their insurance provider. Uninsured students and employees will arrange payment directly with the EMS billing agency, based on the nature of the illness or injury.

If you have been sexually assaulted, there is help available at the Student Wellness Center and in the community.

If you want to report the crime, call 911 and then call campus safety at (626) 914-8611.

If you want to confidentially talk to someone on campus, contact the Student Wellness Center at (626) 914-8671.
