Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children: Awareness and Identification Learning Objectives Training Workshops 2016-2017 · held in December 2016 and January through May 2017

January - Foster/Kinship and Youth Financial Aid Workshop
This event is held annually in early January or February each year and provides foster youth and their caregivers information on financial aid including hands-on online enrollment process.

April - Kinship Training Institute
This event is held in April during Spring Break and serves as a resource to Kinship caregivers to help them identify a range of topics related exclusively to kinship care giving. Some topics covered include laws, reunification, government assistance and resources, and roles, rights and responsibilities.

May - CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children) Training
Obtain the needed tools to be aware and identify CSEC.         

June - Kinship and Youth Training Institute (Your One and Only Life)
This event is held in June following finals at Citrus College. Each year presents a different topic. Classes are held for the caregiver and youth separately, and then are reunited for a large group discussion.

August - MAP-Fest 
Resource Fair sponsored by the DCFS Glendora Supportive Transition Unit/AB 12 and hosted by the Citrus College FKCE Department for Foster Youth 18-21. Call our office for information.

September - Birth to Five Disabilities/Possibilities Seminar
This event is held annually in September and focuses on children with special needs and how to best care for these kids with any variety of physical impairment. Topics change annually and vary from hearing, vision, autism, etc.

November - Foster/Kinship and Youth Training Institute
This event is held in the fall at Citrus College. Each fall presents a different topic. Classes are held for foster and kinship caregivers and the youth in their care.

Curriculum Advisory Committee Meetings are held quarterly in September, December, March and June.

Facilitator Meetings are held monthly (dark in July).
