Luis Lopez

Luis Lopez is currently a captain with the Montebello Police Department where he has served for over 30 years. Captain Lopez began his career as a police cadet in 1992 and became a captain in 2012.

During his career, Captain Lopez has worked a variety of assignments including field training officer, gang unit, special response team, detectives, narcotics, special investigations unit, patrol sergeant, patrol watch commander, detective bureau sergeant, detective bureau lieutenant, and currently serves as the patrol services commander.

Captain Lopez has earned numerous degrees: an Associates in Science Degree in Administration of Justice from Citrus College; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Studies from California State University, Long Beach; a Masters in Science Degree in Emergency Services Administration from California State University, Long Beach; and a Master of Leadership from the University of Southern California.
