Cosmetology and Esthetician Programs

Students can be confident they will receive the best possible education from dedicated faculty who are licensed cosmetologists/estheticians and certified instructors with many years of professional experience.

Cosmetology Service Menu Pricing and Appointment Hours

Both the cosmetology and esthetician programs offer services to students, faculty, staff and the public.

The curriculum from the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology is taught. Students in this program will acquire the practical and technological skills necessary for optimal success. Because we are a community college, this quality education comes at a fraction of the cost of private cosmetology schools.

Our classroom are more typical of a salon environment, equipped with the latest technology to support the cosmetology/esthetician curriculum.

Students will have the opportunity to provide services to members of the community, students, faculty and staff of Citrus College, Azusa Pacific University, Cal Poly Pomona and the surrounding area, including your family and friends. Students are encouraged to participate in a number of community service projects, as well as attend industry events.

Upon successful completion of the course and acquiring a license issued by the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, multiple employment and entrepreneurial opportunities are available to cosmetology/esthetician students, such as:

  • hair stylist in full service salons
  • departmentalized salons
  • hair stylist or makeup artist for television and motion pictures (Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Local #706)
  • research and development technician testing new products
  • facial and skin care specialist
  • manufacturer's representative
  • product educator
  • manicurist and nail art technician
