How to Choose English, ESL, and Math Classes
Citrus College students are placed into English and math based on guided self-placement.
When you apply to Citrus College, we collect your self-reported high school data, including your GPA and the last math course completed in high school with a "C" grade or better. All applicants receive an email with their placement into English and math.
Students who took English and/or math at another college, and who plan to take an English and/or math course at Citrus College, may use unofficial transcripts to clear any English and/or math prerequisites. This can be done by submitting the
Prerequisite Clearance Form online or by meeting in-person with a counselor for proper placement.
Students with questions about their placement should meet with a counselor. Students may book a counseling appointment by using the
Counseling and Advisement Center Appointment Scheduling System.
